#85 · Crux

Crux, the Southern Cross, is the smallest of the 88 official constellations — yet for centuries it served as the key navigational reference for anyone traveling the Southern Hemisphere. Extend its long axis roughly four and a half times, and it points almost exactly toward true south.

Size and usefulness work independently here. A handful of stars, arranged with enough precision, can carry as much navigational weight as an entire sky of brighter, larger patterns.

This ring runs on the same logic. A small number of stones does the structural work: the marquise sits at the center, and the baguettes and rounds brace it in exact, mirrored positions on either side, the whole arrangement built from precision rather than volume.

Called Crux, the ring holds the same principle as the constellation: a compact set of points, placed exactly, carrying far more significance than their size alone would suggest.

The Composition:

• Center stone: natural tanzanite, marquise fantasy cut, 1.2 ct · cut by hand in our studio
• Accents: lab grown diamonds, HVS, 0.33 ct, lab alexandrites, 0.12 ct
