Every tide follows the moon's pull, rising and falling twice a day in a rhythm the ocean never set for itself. What breaks on the shore as a wave was already in motion long before it took that shape — pulled into being by something the water never touches directly.

Nothing in that system exists on its own. The tide depends on the moon, the moon depends on its orbit, and each stays in motion only by staying connected to what surrounds it — the same way everything in nature holds together by continuing to move, never by standing still.

The pull isn't even constant. When the sun and moon align, at full and new moon, their combined gravity drags the tide to its widest swing. At the moon's quarters, the two forces work against each other, and the tide narrows — the same ocean, rising and falling by different amounts depending on what's aligned above it.

Onda is the word Spanish and Italian give this motion — wave, from the Latin unda — not a fixed shape, but a name for the act of continuing to rise and fall.

This ring is built as one uninterrupted curve, the stone set exactly where the line dips lowest before rising again on the other side — not an object placed on a band, but the same motion, given a fixed shape.
