The triad's strength is in the number itself, not any single part — three is the smallest number that can hold its own shape. Two points make a line; three make a plane, the first shape with real stability. A tripod's steadiness on any surface comes from its geometry — three fixed legs set the plane regardless of where it lands. Musicians use the same logic to build a chord: a triad is three notes stacked in fixed intervals, and that arrangement is what gives it a resolved, settled sound.

This ring is built on that same fixed arrangement. Two trillion-cut stones hold their positions on either side, set at matching angles, defining the piece on their own — they are what makes it read as a triad, whatever sits between them. The center stays open to change: a different cut, a different stone, a different mood for a different piece. The trillions hold their ground. Like a chord that keeps its character no matter which instrument plays it, Triad carries its identity in the structure the side stones hold, wherever the center stone happens to be.

• Central gemstone: fantasy cut tanzanite, modified marquise shape, natural, hand-cut in our studio
• Side gems: natural moonstones, trillion cut, 0.34 ct
